Recommended Setup
Clear audio, better notes
Sugarbot works well with the built-in microphone on your computer, and it even works with most phones, so you can get started today without buying anything. Once Sugarbot is part of your daily routine, we do recommend switching to a dedicated USB microphone. It picks up both sides of the conversation more clearly in a busy office, and cleaner audio means better notes.
TONOR G11 USB Microphone
Desktop USB microphone, omnidirectional
This is our favorite microphone for Sugarbot. It sits on the counter, plugs into any open USB port, and picks up voices from every direction, so it hears you and your patient without anyone leaning in.
Setup tips
A few small things make a big difference in how well Sugarbot hears the visit.
Make it your default input
After you plug in the mic, select it as the input device in your computer's sound settings. When your browser asks, allow microphone access for Sugarbot.
Keep it near the chair
Set the mic on the counter within a few feet of you and your patient. Avoid tucking it behind a monitor or inside a cabinet, where sound gets muffled.
Starting with a phone or laptop?
Built-in mics are made for someone sitting right in front of the screen. Place the device as close to the conversation as you comfortably can, and you will be in good shape while you decide on a dedicated mic.
